How the math works
(attended + x) ÷ (held + x) ≥ required rate
When you are below the threshold, PassPlan solves this inequality for x and rounds up because you cannot attend a fraction of a class.
Worked example
Recovering from 70% to 75%
If you attended 14 of 20 classes, solving (14 + x) ÷ (20 + x) ≥ 0.75 gives x ≥ 4. Attend the next four classes and your record becomes 18 of 24, exactly 75%.

Frequently asked questions
Why can the recovery number feel large?
Each new class increases both the attended count and the total class count. The closer the requirement is to 100%, the more consecutive classes it takes to raise the percentage.
Does a safe absence mean I should skip class?
No. It only describes the mathematical buffer in the numbers you entered. Course policies may also count labs, late arrivals, excused absences, or mandatory sessions differently.
What does the forecast assume?
The end-of-course forecast assumes you attend every remaining scheduled class. It is a best-attendance scenario, not a prediction.
